Dear Outdoor Education Coordinators, Principals, Teachers, and Secretaries,
This year you may book an in-person or Zoom site visit. Please choose one time that best meets the needs of your school. Slots will be taken on a first-come-first-served basis. It is important that only one slot is booked for each school. Your timely response will be greatly appreciated.
Please take note of the following:
Please choose a time that works best for your site team from the given options. If you need to adjust the time slightly, just book the closest time and email me( [email protected]) and our Senior Naturalist, Bobcat([email protected]), to let us know what time is best. We need at least an hour between in-person site visits in order to fit in travel and set up/break down times. We will confirm with you whether the new time works on our end too.
Please, make sure to provide our Senior Naturalist, who will be presenting, a room, a projector and a screen for his presentation. For a Zoom visit, you will need a computer that is enabled to use Zoom and a projector. If you have further questions about what he needs, feel free to email.
Our visits are held on Tuesdays & Wednesdays (very rarely on Thursdays) 3-6 weeks before students go to the outdoor school. Please try your best to book a visit within that time frame.
We try to group our school in-person visits by district or geographic proximity for ease in driving.
Normally the program orientation is an hour including questions from the students. Parents may attend but should know that the presentation is geared for students with limited time at the end for parent questions. Please encourage parents and teachers to refer to the San Mateo Outdoor Education website for more information.
