Dear Outdoor Education Coordinators, Principals, Teachers, and Secretaries,
Welcome to San Mateo Outdoor Education for the 2023-2024 school year! Your site visit will provide important information to your students about Outdoor Ed. You will be offered slots along with a few other schools in your area. Please choose the time that best meets the needs of your school. Slots will be taken on a first-come-first-served basis. It is important that only one slot is booked for each school. Your timely response will be greatly appreciated.
Please take note of the following:
- Please choose a time that works best for your site from the given options. If you need to adjust the time slightly, just book the closest time and email me( [email protected]) and our Senior Naturalist, Bobcat([email protected]), to let us know what time is best. We need at least an hour between site visits in order to fit in travel and set up/break down times. We will confirm with you whether the new time works on our end too.
- Please, make sure to provide our Senior Naturalist, who will be presenting, a room, a projector and a screen for her presentation. If you have further questions about what she needs, feel free to email.
- Our visits are held on Tuesdays & Wednesdays (rarely on Thursdays when needed) 2-6 weeks before students go to the outdoor school.
- We try to group our school visits by district or geographic proximity for ease in driving.
- Normally the program orientation is an hour including questions from the students. Parents may attend but should know that the presentation is geared for students with limited time at the end for parent questions. Please encourage parents and teachers to refer to the San Mateo Outdoor Education website for more information.
